My Journey Into Becoming a Diabetes & Metabolic Health Coach Started Back in 2020….

As a nurse, I had spent years witnessing the devastating effects of diabetes and insulin resistance in the hospital—patients who had lost limbs, their vision, and their independence, all while being told to “eat better and lose weight” with no real guidance.

But One Day, Something Heartbreaking Happened….

Three years into my nursing career, I faced the devastating loss of my dad to a heart attack—another life cut short by years of uncontrolled diabetes and a system that relied on medication instead of true prevention. Losing both my parents before I even turned 30—my mom to cancer and my dad to diabetes complications—was overwhelming.

As an Emergency Department nurse, I saw the same heartbreaking patterns every day. Patients coming in with diabetic complications—heart attacks, kidney failure, amputations—who had only ever been told to “eat better” or were simply placed on medication with no real guidance. It was a revolving door of preventable illness, and I felt powerless watching people suffer when I knew it didn’t have to be this way.

I needed a different approach—one that empowered people to take control of their blood sugar and metabolic health before it was too late. That’s when I discovered holistic, root-cause health coaching and signed up for the first available training, determined to help people avoid the fate I had seen and experienced too many times before.

From This Moment On, My Life Changed Forever

I discovered that managing blood sugar doesn’t have to mean a lifetime of medications, endless doctor’s visits, restrictive diets, or punishing workout routines.

Through this process, I also uncovered how stress, grief, and burnout had affected my own health. I realized that healing isn’t just about what we eat or how we move—it’s also about reducing stress, improving sleep, and creating a sustainable lifestyle that supports long-term health.
